I totally wasn't expecting that. I had asked my doctor what the likelihood of me delivering late was and he said that 80% of first time moms deliver past their due date. Since I figured I'd be like most first time moms, I was super surprised when my water broke the evening of Aug 11. <br />
<br />
We were home from church for about an hour and thirty minutes. I was sitting on the couch surfing the internet and decided to get up (I don't remember why). Then it happened! I thought, "what the..!?" and ran to the bathroom. Sure enough my water broke! Thank goodness just about 3 days earlier we packed our hospital bag!<br />
<br />
So we headed to the hospital and got there around 5 PM. The nurse did some tests, found that my water did break, and admitted me at around 6:30 PM. I ended up getting pitocin since my contractions weren't getting all that strong by themselves. At around 2 AM, I got the epidural because not only did I have regular contraction pain but I had back labor pains as well. There was NO way I was going to do natural childbirth with pain like that (I hadn't planned on it anyway)! I labored for a few more hours and at around 7:30 I started pushing! It was NOT fun because the pressure was so intense the epidural didn't seem to help at all. But almost an hour later, the best thing ever happened! Brandon made his debut! He weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 20.5 inches long.<br />

<br />
We've been living in Provo, UT since June 2012 because Greg got accepted to BYU's Physics Masters program. He's been doing really well :) We currently have a 2 bedroom apartment in BYU's married student housing, Wymount Terrace. When we first moved here, it was kind of weird. I didn't think we'd end up back in Provo to live for a while! But, it's really nice to move somewhere and already know how to get around, like what grocery store to go to, what things there are to do, and stuff like that. <br />
<br />
Not only were we so excited that Greg got accepted to grad school but that we were moving closer to my younger sister Meaghan, who's working on her bachelors at BYU. It's been absolutely fabulous living near her and being able to hang out often! She lives just down the street, which makes it super easy to get together. <br />
<br />
Greg now has about a year left to go and during the next year he'll be taking additional teaching classes to go towards a teaching credential (Greg wants to teach physics at high school or community college level). I know he'll be a great teacher and he's working really hard to get there. <br />
<br />
As for me, I currently have two part-time jobs. One is working for Nu Skin as a Product Assembler in their distribution center and the other is bookkeeping/accounting for my dad's two companies. The latter I do from home, which is super nice since we have a baby on the way and I can continue to do that after the baby's born.<br />
<br />
There! Now I've given a little general update about where we're living ;) Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-49164166463040889702013-05-24T14:07:00.000-06:002013-05-24T14:07:14.787-06:0013 more weeks!So in case you don't know, Greg and I are expecting our first and I'm due August 21! I'm currently 27 weeks along (only 13 more to go! yikes!). <br />
<br />
We found out a week before Christmas. We couldn't wait to tell our families especially since a holiday was coming up, and we were going to spend Christmas with Greg's family. This is their first grandchild! So we told everyone when I was only 6 weeks along! Super early I know...we were just so excited and couldn't hold it in! <br />
<br />
So far, pregnancy for me hasn't been that bad. During my first trimester, I had some nausea but never actually vomited because of it and it didn't last all that long. I think I'm one of those super lucky women because I've heard stories of how other women had nausea for almost half their pregnancy or longer! <br />
<br />
My second trimester has been great! I've got to feel our little guy move (yes, it's a boy!) and Greg has been able to feel him move also! Our little boy is funny especially when it comes to letting his daddy feel him move. Almost every time I tell Greg "Hey wanna feel him move?" Greg would excitedly put his hand on my belly and the baby would stop moving! Silly little guy. I haven't taken any belly shots yet because I don't think I look pregnant! I know and Greg knows I'm showing but I think I look like I just gained a bunch of weight and that's it :( I'll take one today, post it, and see what you think.<br />
<br />
Here's a picture of our boy at 21 weeks. He's a cutie :) <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We are so excited for our son to come, but at the same time it's kind of scary! Being responsible for something so precious and completely dependent makes me nervous even though I've babysat plenty of babies and toddlers. I guess the fact that this one is actually mine to take care of makes me feel that way. But I know Greg and I won't be horrible parents and that we'll have plenty of support from our families and friends to help us out when we need it! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We can't wait to see who he looks like, if he will have red hair or not, what color his eyes are, what kind of personality he'll have, and everything else that comes with such a bundle of joy! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What's his name you ask? Right now, it's Brandon James. (Flows pretty well don't ya think?)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Baby Brandon, we love you and are looking forward to getting to know you!</div>

<br />
A lot has been on my mind recently. I've been thinking about decisions I made and second guessing that they were the right ones for me to make. After much reflection I have come to this list of things I am grateful for that help dispel any doubts I have had:<br />
<br />
1) I am grateful that I know I am a daughter of a loving, generous, caring Heavenly Father. I came to this knowledge when I was 11 years old and it has never, ever left me. This knowledge helps me get through any challenges I face in my life. I know it will continue to do so. <br />
<br />
2) I am grateful for miracles. Miracles happen everyday and in different sizes. Greg and I have been blessed by God with miracles that may seem like nothing to someone else but mean the world to us. Through our faith we have been able to see the miracles of God performed in our lives. Through these miracles we know that Heavenly Father is always watching over us and cares about us.<br />
<br />
3) I am grateful I married Greg. I can't imagine myself being with any other man. Greg is kind, considerate, funny, caring, worthy of the Priesthood, spiritual, faithful, great with kids, smart, willing to follow the Lord's will, thoughtful, respectful, and my best friend! I feel so blessed everyday that I get to wake up and see him next to me. It is hard to describe in words the love I have for him.<br />
<br />
4) I am grateful for the opportunity to become a mother. This is the role I've been dreaming about and have always desired! I'm super excited that in August my dream will come true! I'm even more excited that Greg will be a father. I know he'll be a great dad and I can't wait until I get to see him play with our son/daughter.<br />
<br />
5) I am grateful for my parents and my siblings. I have felt their love for me ever since I was little. They teach me every time I'm with them and I love them so much! I hope they each know that I love them!<br />
<br />
6) I am grateful I spent time living with my in-laws. When Greg and I got married we moved into his parents' house until one of us got a job. I'm grateful that I got to know them better and become more comfortable around them. They now truly feel like family to me and I don't think I would've gotten to that point yet if we didn't live with them.<br />
<br />
7) I am grateful we lived in Wisconsin for the time we did. We met so many wonderful people in Madison, especially in our ward. We made some great friends who provided advice and love to us since we were both so very far away from our own families. During this time I served as a Young Women adviser in the our ward. I loved that calling! I was able to share a bit of my testimony with the 12-13 year olds every Sunday and Wednesday. By spending time with them I was able to see how much I've matured since I was in Young Women's. I miss those girls. Greg and I learned so much from our time in Wisconsin and we wouldn't trade that much needed experience for anything else.<br />
<br />
8) I am grateful for the jobs I had and have. I spent some time babysitting part-time, processing claims at a fitness equipment manufacturer, and now I'm working as a product assembler. Each job taught me some lessons that I don't think I would have gotten anywhere else. I learned more business smarts, how to be more professional, to own my mistakes as soon as they happen, how to treat others in general, and that every job no matter how menial is essential to the business it's in.<br />
<br />
As I was thinking of the above things I'm grateful for, I realized that if my various decisions had been different I probably wouldn't have had the above experiences at the time of my life that I needed them. I know the Lord has a plan for me and Greg. I've tried to follow His plan for me and yes some things have been hard but that's what life is for! Without the hard things, we wouldn't learn how to become more like our Heavenly Father. <br />
<br />
One last thing I'm grateful for is that I can say I'm HAPPY! I'm happy because I married the love of my life in the temple and that I have a testimony of the Gospel. I know that if Greg and I strive to continue living the Gospel that we will always be happy and have true joy! But that's okay! Haha.Greg and I recently had our 1st Wedding Anniversary!!! We couldn't believe it has been a year already! We both felt (and feel) very grateful that we have each other and that we'll be able to spend the rest of eternity together. Here's a run down of what we did:</div><div><br /></div><div>1) I got up before Greg to surprise him with French Toast for breakfast!</div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1mXdpV8yqCEQsPlCy1XeOfSyfvE3lGP5x6AFGsr6s4gws5mVJUHodAl2roEV0bvkm37KvO0yz4c1n4cUaIjicNidS_8m01j-h1aaY4NwL1cCmot1TMAzv-sTvTJWkjRBN-H15i5Pwb5w/s200/P1020449.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604834065491212354" /></div><div>2) Greg surprised me by telling me he took the day off and made all sorts of plans for that day!</div><div>3) We went to the park and had a picnic and played card games. Greg got all the food the day before and made sure I didn't see it until the next day. He likes to surprise me and I like surprises :) Good combo.</div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIbhvz4BclgWysF8wQ5OQYfXdyxRyj42_bN0N17LloCC5DmxGmZe-VjGbj3Mx7da-nP2LkSFZtnLtGFEtBIbe6YkvyGSJYh9br6Lk0AxxpYKDVRgYCddxcftOggxZEjDHvpsF53LzaQQM/s200/P1020454.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604834957797365810" /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">we were also going to fly kites but it was rainy :(</div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbJq1HDux6VfRLXGCecnfSuzqjx6IlOjMowbHLbAVUJrBFIUvL5x8KMClMmXXW7duT8GyX4t_wpl15OaDeAywrduJhra8W2TKK6e_VEw8ygKLga2jFiDj7vadgAuFu1m3mbzKw6agUat8/s200/P1020455.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604834959777065154" /></div><div><br /></div><div>4) We went to the zoo! Because it was rainy, a lot of the animals weren't out like all the big cats, rhinos, etc. But we did get to see red pandas, giraffes, otters, seals, bears, wallabies, meerkats, and more including huge cockroaches (yuck!). I took lots of pictures but decided to upload just a couple.</div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBwhNwI5dbm909azFf_rhqp2kc0ME9FSt7asDn_RwPU-gH7nEqMJhp7N1u_PAwPo734hSyoiQvYWIQMNEB8sHPjJv25yjgVaxnAL4qQmW_PM5_HX9T9wdO23bSvmtZh-jivYJuU9GZAnk/s1600/P1020471.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBwhNwI5dbm909azFf_rhqp2kc0ME9FSt7asDn_RwPU-gH7nEqMJhp7N1u_PAwPo734hSyoiQvYWIQMNEB8sHPjJv25yjgVaxnAL4qQmW_PM5_HX9T9wdO23bSvmtZh-jivYJuU9GZAnk/s200/P1020471.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604835892371816562" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px; " /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyOIZNk7mLpfpOInMkvXxhCaj19szOhkOglU6wBeAA7MGF3LQRSTeLJBM2WqzsqyeM5_L2Nm2TOGBCyrGEN07kfYw08lWuQ47443vZW0EXImDUR9CANNxug2ZqYcX6DQ8lNgafnALzBNg/s1600/P1020460.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyOIZNk7mLpfpOInMkvXxhCaj19szOhkOglU6wBeAA7MGF3LQRSTeLJBM2WqzsqyeM5_L2Nm2TOGBCyrGEN07kfYw08lWuQ47443vZW0EXImDUR9CANNxug2ZqYcX6DQ8lNgafnALzBNg/s200/P1020460.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604835890081897074" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px; " /></a></div><div><br /></div><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyJgVQpwJJBaUSdo3PI2NeRxwRKmOpNvUk0YEQBVvvDmHprJOJpukK_eLkveXCxf337mZTSZo1FjpAJ2tQGNA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><div><br /></div><div>5) Then we went to see the movie "Arthur". Greg doesn't have a calling yet but I bet he'll get one soon! Next week Tuesday I'm going to a hiring seminar for the local Apple Store! Apparently, Apple has quite a few interview processes and I hope I get through them all and get a job there! I think it would be fun to work at the Apple Store. Also, ever since we got Guitar Hero, I've been listening to (or rather playing in the game) the song "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. It has such a great beat! I don't think I'll get tired it! Anyway, that's about all I can think of that's new with us. Lately I've been thinking of all the blessings that God has given Greg and me. Greg has a job, we have a nice apartment, we are making new friends, we are healthy, we both have loving families, we have some of the cutest nieces and nephews, we have the gospel, we have the scriptures, we have a temple that we can go to once a month, and we have each other. There is so much to be grateful for in our lives and I just feel so much gratitude! Greg and I are doing great and are truly blessed.Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-29097858111280866162010-11-04T13:52:00.005-06:002010-11-04T14:23:59.260-06:00Verona, Wisconsin!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJWOyX-0BSyzyWGGgYIaKhTJ-_SBmuxb_b44FprLQs2R-99nC-I_8sAXQwuS_BhJjyipkq0gZ_04y9nVsAjcciicjt5N4CslfLgIsEin1Qty4e45Ox4PtLlb7s6mE8h3vOQkpkxeWSNmM/s1600/P1020309.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJWOyX-0BSyzyWGGgYIaKhTJ-_SBmuxb_b44FprLQs2R-99nC-I_8sAXQwuS_BhJjyipkq0gZ_04y9nVsAjcciicjt5N4CslfLgIsEin1Qty4e45Ox4PtLlb7s6mE8h3vOQkpkxeWSNmM/s320/P1020309.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5535792646094016290" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't updated this blog for a very, very long time! And thanks for reminding me to update Paula! I really do need the reminders. Sometimes I just get sidetracked with everything else I don't just sit down and tell people what is new with Greg and me. <div><br /></div><div>Well, my last post I announced that Greg and I got married and we've been married for a little over 6 months now! I can't believe it! Being married to my best friend has been amazing and the time just flies! From a couple days after we got married to Oct 18 we were living with my In-laws, Bob and Diane. Neither Greg nor I could get a job before we graduated/got married and had to live somewhere and Greg's parents were so generous to let us live there until we got a job. THANK YOU BOB AND DIANE! It was pretty difficult looking for work. We both applied to so many different jobs and not getting response from almost any of them was hard. </div><div><br /></div><div>But then one fine day in September Greg got an email from Epic (here in Verona, WI) saying that they wanted to interview Greg over the phone. Later that week, Greg had his interview and the NEXT DAY he got an email expressing interest in an on-site interview! We were both so so excited but still didn't want to keep our hopes up just in case it didn't work out. But apparently it worked out! </div><div><br /></div><div>So now we are here in Verona, WI which is right next to Madison the capitol of Wisconsin. So far we like it here. People here are friendly and our ward is really nice. Apparently, 1/3 of the ward works for Epic! We have a very nice apartment that has a washer/dryer in the apartment! And every building has an elevator! Greg is currently on his 4th day of work and so far he likes it! Hopefully he still will like it when all the training is done and he really gets into his position at Epic. (If you would like to find out what Epic does I'd recommend going to their website www.epic.com) </div><div><br /></div><div>As for me, I'm still looking for work everyday but for now I'm kind of enjoying being at home. I've been making dinner the past few nights, and I feel like a more accomplished cook than I ever did during college! This is probably because Greg and I actually planned our meals for this week and next week. I never did that during college. On my Facebook page I posted pictures we took of our apartment before we really started moving in. Now we have a nice dining table and chairs we got from Walmart and we basically went on a shopping spree at Bed, Bath and Beyond! We received so many gift cards as wedding gifts! Last Friday we probably spent over 2 hours in that store, bought over $800 worth of stuff and STILL had hundreds of dollars in gift cards left! I thought that was pretty amazing! </div><div><br /></div><div>Well, I think I'll post again tomorrow and post some new pictures of our apartment with a few more things in it! </div>Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-83155988542698125442010-05-10T17:26:00.002-06:002010-05-10T17:28:05.619-06:00WE'RE MARRIED!!!!!!!!!Two weeks ago Greg and I were married and sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple! We're so happy to be finally married and we love it! Hopefully I'll do better from now on. :-) So as you could guess from the title of this blog there are 3 weeks until Greg and I are married! We are so excited and cannot wait! I have my dress, Greg was fitted for his tux the other day, and as far as I know everything else related to the wedding is falling into place. <br /><br />Greg and I have been together for a year and a half and after all this time we feel we are even more ready than when he proposed to get married. Greg and I both wish everyone a great year and hope only great things happen for you.Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-62700264845860184082009-12-26T20:57:00.006-07:002009-12-31T11:20:39.037-07:00Four months to go!<div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">Can you believe it? Greg and I have been engaged for about four months and have four more months until we are married! Wedding planning is going slowly but surely! I already have a dress picked out, our honeymoon planned, and now our receptions are getting dates set soon. I'm sure you're dying to know where we're going on our honeymoon! We're going on a four-night cruise to Mexico that sails May 3rd from Los Angeles! I'm really excited to go on a cruise because I've never been on one. Greg has been on one before.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>Many people have expressed to me and Greg that long engagements are hard. At first I thought we'd just be fine but now I understand what they mean especially when three of my friends are getting married over the Christmas break and we still have four months left. However, I'm glad we decided to get married in April because I can't imagine having to plan a wedding during the crazy semester I just finished!<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>But now let me fill you in on what we've been up to since the last time I posted! Let's see, school was busy (when is it ever not busy???), I presented at a physics conference, and then came Halloween. Greg and I attended a Halloween party thrown by a club of which our friend Jordan is in charge. It was really fun! Greg dressed up as Luigi from the Nintendo games and I dressed up as a generic European/French person. We just got back from one of my band concerts and I needed to dress as something that could incorporate my black outfit, so I had a scarf and a beret to add.</div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvimorgA47w_JOKzJsEWu88iDz8csN-6HPgrPLjbCHvkUMxjczjImW2j8pERZIMESnyoPi3gQkVPSY0LEhvNLYozlPtQfvxplVCyk5oW9yMqp0WIhB3dpn0daFMqCafLD8Esgf2zjBMzM/s320/P1020163.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419764048195281442" /></div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiydh0meVSEBWYIMU9g6-sktgo9uDys_w4rZwTO4OEfIH9sC2k4_8My5gCKmOmUOO9LOgl1ZlB85h_agYh79Te7vPHwSjyCw7WVH-OjnZIo6Af8pDD3hGKyR2q56gs7F7R3mc86drwj68w/s320/P1020162.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419764037509143234" /><div> </div></div><div style="text-align: left;">For Thanksgiving, Greg and I went to his parents house. Kristine, Greg's sister, had been planning a surprise wedding anniversary party for their parents for the past year, and Greg and I were part of the surprise! We arrived in Sacramento the Saturday before Thanksgiving and his parents weren't expecting us to come for another few days. His parents were very very very surprised by the party and us being there! It was a great moment :). My birthday was the Monday after that and we spent the day at Kristine's. It was a good day! Greg, his parents, and I had a little dance party after dinner which was really fun. I love to dance! Then a couple days later, Thanksgiving was upon us! Can you tell this was a week full of celebration? We went to Bob's (Greg's dad) mom's house in Reno to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was really fun meeting members of Greg's extended family. The next day Greg's parents threw us a wedding shower! We got many great gifts from his family for which we are so thankful! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Since Thanksgiving, we finished out the semester. We took our finals and now we're on break. Greg is in California and I'm in North Carolina. Saturday we both go back to Utah for our final semester! We are both really excited for that because that means after the semester we graduate and get married!</div>Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-13473904497486100982009-11-07T13:01:00.003-07:002010-01-17T17:38:17.314-07:00Long time no update...Who knew that wedding planning needed so much things to plan??? I sure didn't. A lot of the planning isn't done yet but we'll get it done soon I hope. Greg and I sure can't wait to be married! We're super excited, as we should be right? Well, here's a little bit of what's been going on the past few weeks: <div><br /></div><div>A few weeks ago I went to a physics conference. It was the Four Corners Meeting of the American Physical Society and I gave a 10 minute presentation about the research I've been working on. It was fun but not having Greg there made it not as much fun as it could've been for me. I missed him a lot. </div><div><br /></div><div>Today, Greg took the GRE subject test for physics. I think he feels he did his best and I hope he did well so he can get into the graduate school he wants! Well, I have confidence in him :-) </div><div> </div>Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-65315429505871124802009-09-28T09:50:00.003-06:002009-10-10T15:56:23.279-06:00We have a date set!!!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivzJW8BKLK8sVypjexcOqaSLG0t4AEVvMwEp9Nj2MfTW3v_G5FAQdcBz77p0McnmMkvOxZ4m3_5C47pQZFWGT_m_CD9Fc_hFwPjN0h32nz4j-lcfkCug_KhKldjJ9T5iL_kVriPErV4OU/s1600-h/5360_SaltLakeUT_hr.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 144px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivzJW8BKLK8sVypjexcOqaSLG0t4AEVvMwEp9Nj2MfTW3v_G5FAQdcBz77p0McnmMkvOxZ4m3_5C47pQZFWGT_m_CD9Fc_hFwPjN0h32nz4j-lcfkCug_KhKldjJ9T5iL_kVriPErV4OU/s200/5360_SaltLakeUT_hr.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391093523587368882" /></a><br />Greg and I have set a date! It is April 26th in the Salt Lake Temple!!! We're so excited and now we can start planning everything else!Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-91383358368710848572009-09-16T18:01:00.003-06:002009-09-16T18:07:19.864-06:00My Laptop died...but now it's alive again! Last week the hard drive in my laptop went totally bad. As a result I lost all the documents, pictures, home-made movies, etc. that I had on my laptop. Thankfully, all my music and movies were saved because they were on a separate hard drive! After a few days in the shop and four disks worth of installations, my computer is back up and running. Thank goodness I was able to use campus computers while I didn't have my laptop!<div><br /></div><div>For those who may be wondering, Greg and I still don't have an actual date set for our wedding. We'll be sure to let you know when we do decide on one!</div>Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-56890571125330034542009-09-05T12:31:00.008-06:002009-09-05T20:58:44.249-06:00We're Engaged!<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>We have some very exciting news to share and that is Greg and I are engaged! Since loads of you want to know the story I'll post it here so ya'll can read it when ever you want and I don't have to reproduce it about 30 times :). <div><br /></div><div>It basically started earlier this week when he started giving me gifts everyday. Monday I received good morning and goodnight phone calls instead of texting as we usually do, Tuesday he gave me a box of chocolate truffles, Wednesday he gave me Celine Dion perfume/cologne, and Thursday he gave me a dozen roses! Yesterday, Friday, he made dinner and it was a fabulous dinner! Everything was from scratch! The main dish was a stuffed chicken breast that was stuffed with ham and cheese (kind of like cordon bleu but better!). It was so delicious! For the sides he prepared some pasta and red meat sauce, some sautéed zucchini, and garlic bread. For dessert he had made cheesecake from scratch! It was so yummy!</div><div><br /></div><div>After dinner, we drove up to the Squaw Peak overlook, which is way high up, to see the sunset. I made sure to bring my camera with me because I knew that there would be a wonderful view! When we got there, I took a few pictures and we walked a little bit away from the other people who were around. We kept looking at the beautiful clouds with the pinkish color around them and seeing the lights of Provo and Orem turn on. Then he turns to me and tells me that he had written a poem for me! He then recited it to me having committed it to memory, and after the poem was finished he knelt down on one knee and pulled out the ring and asked "Erin, will you marry me?" Of course I said yes!</div><div><br /></div><div>The entire week was so romantic, Friday especially! We are so happy! We don't exactly have a date yet but we're thinking soon after we graduate college, which makes the engagement sorta long but that's okay. We're so excited and can't wait until we actually tie the knot! </div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKinq-yCvac1KzZbNjKJdvwU4Np5vqZPqk8KNq6GYc5VYYGi-FFPse4dBSOxHVqT4mAkmK7QsCLdibklLhIkSSJjy5luAAvkv_r5waUbXA9B72RfV-8YffG0ziWt-umf_7coaJXRcbRKA/s320/P1020131.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378072415322150850" /></div>Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-82110858153327881272009-09-01T10:52:00.005-06:002009-09-01T10:58:48.147-06:00Small UpdateHello everyone! Greg and I had our first day of classes yesterday! It was a good day overall. It looks like it will be a very good yet busy semester for the both of us. We have 4 classes in common and I have a couple more I'm taking. Hopefully everything will go well and we will be able to get the grades we want! Just wanted to give a tiny update. Hope everything is well with you!Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403765790399242927.post-80379629525862079622009-08-25T22:43:00.001-06:002009-08-25T22:55:23.592-06:00First ever blog post!Hello! My name is Erin and I have never done a blog before. I'm actually doing this for both me and my boyfriend, Greg (who is the most wonderful man ever!), but as pattern shows I'll be doing most of the blogging. Just a bit about us: I'm currently attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I'm majoring in physics and Greg is doing the same (which is how we met). Greg and I will be graduating in April of 2010! That is still a couple semesters away but it will fly by so fast we won't even know what hit us! After that Greg and I will probably be tying the knot and Greg will be off to graduate school pursuing a doctorate in astrophysics. As for me, I haven't truly and completely decided but am leaning towards getting a job instead of graduate school. Hopefully things will turn out the way we'd like them to but as history has shown everyone on this planet, it probably won't at least a little bit. Greg and I are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and we love it! <div><br /></div><div>So that's us! School starts again on Monday and thus starting our senior year of college. I don't know how often I'll update this blog but hopefully I won't leave you hanging for too long...if you're even interested. </div>Greg and Erin Sutherlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17380718499283860229noreply@blogger.com0
